We will be having our virtual book club discussing Asian American Dreams on 2/28 from 10-11am! Email Celene Chen at celenec@bu.edu if you would like the join.
Join AALAM and SABA for an author talk with the inimitable Eddie Ahn! Eddie Ahn is the Author and Artist of "Advocate," the national bestseller graphic memoir published by Penguin Random House. Recognized as a Washington Post and American Library Association Best Graphic Novel of the Year, "Advocate" is a moving story about Eddie's work as an environmental justice lawyer serving diverse communities while grappling with family expectations and burnout.
As a nonprofit lawyer and executive director, Eddie leads Brightline Defense, an environmental justice nonprofit based in San Francisco, and he also serves as a commissioner for three local and state government agencies related to environmental policymaking. As of 2026, Eddie has completed over 101 events across San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Sacramento, and New York – and he returns to Boston for a lively night of conversation about the year ahead.
This event is free, but registration is required at least 24 hours in advance due to building security procedures. Appetizers and other light bites will be served, and if you're lucky, you might even get to take home a free signed copy of "Advocate" or other original art by the author (while supplies last).

Whether you’re a new lawyer, a seasoned attorney, or somewhere in between, this breakfast is a chance to reconnect, recharge, and reflect on how we can uplift one another and lead with purpose. This event is only for practicing attorneys or those with bar licenses.

Tired of the snow and rude winter? So are we. Come grab a drink, eat some food, and hang out with the AALAM Government/Public Interest Committee at Democracy Brewing! We welcome not only those who currently practice as government or public interest attorneys, but also those who are interested in learning more about the practice. Drinks, food, and good conversation will be provided. Please RSVP as soon as possible as spots are limited.
Billable hours down? Assignments slowing? A lukewarm performance review? You are not alone. Join the Asian American Lawyers Associates of Massachusetts (AALAM) and South Asian Bar Association of Greater Boston (SABA GB) for a no-nonsense, strategy-focused webinar that pulls back the curtain on how law firms really work.
Featuring Mian Wang (Greenberg Traurig), Amisha Patel (Orrick), Ameek Ashok Ponda (Sullivan & Worcester), and Lesley Chuang (DLA Piper), this webinar will unpack what is happening behind the scenes: how partners evaluate associates (formally and informally), how staffing decisions are made, and what signals truly matter. We will share strategies associates can use to increase visibility and demonstrate value, and course‑correct when things feel off‑track.
We will also tackle the hardest question head‑on: when it makes sense to stay and invest, and when it may be time to explore external options thoughtfully. This is a candid conversation for associates who seek clarity, control, and a realistic path forward. Don’t miss it!
Teams link will be provided to all registrants on Monday, April 6.
