Join AALAM and other bar members as we urge legislators to increase funding for civil legal aid!  Each year, hundreds of attorneys participate in one of the largest lobby days at the Massachusetts State House. Their goal is to urge lawmakers to protect state funding for programs that provide civil legal aid to low-income Massachusetts residents.

Organized by the Equal Justice Coalition, this legislative funding campaign calls on state lawmakers to adequately fund the Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation (MLAC) line item in the Fiscal Year 2019 state budget.

Please register here if you plan to attend (even if through your own firm or organization) as we'd love to know the strength of our numbers!

Walk to the Hill 2018

Thursday, January 25th

11 am – 1 pm

State House, Great Hall

At the 18th Annual Walk to the Hill for Civil Legal Aid in 2017, nearly 700 attorneys heard from various speakers, including the Chief Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court and the presidents of the Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations, about the critical role that civil legal aid plays in ensuring equal access to justice. They then visited their state Senators and Representatives to encourage them to provide $23 million in funding for civil legal aid in the fiscal year 2018 Massachusetts state budget.

The Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts (AALAM) is a non-partisan, 501(c)(6) non-profit organization.
