Since its inception in 1984, the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts (AALAM) has devoted its energy and resources to serving the Asian American legal community and improving and facilitating the administration of law and justice.  

Join a powerful network of Asian Pacific American attorneys in Massachusetts and nationwide! AALAM serves as a professional and social network for its members, who practice in all sectors of the legal profession. AALAM's membership includes over 250 lawyers, judges, law professors, and law students in Massachusetts. 

Events are held every month. In addition, AALAM works closely with the other affinity bar associations in Massachusetts, as well as the Boston Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association.

Membership in AALAM automatically includes membership in the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), which represents over 50,000 Asian Pacific American attorneys nationwide through its local affiliates, including AALAM.

    For AAPI month, AALAM is hosting an author talk with local author Shaina Lu, author of the graphic novel Noodle and Bao. This discussion on Community, Food, and Gentrification is open to all and is for all ages. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Come on down to Castle Island Park in South Boston (by Sullivan’s) on Saturday May 10th, 1-3pm. (Rain date to be provided if necessary).

    There will be a moderated conversation, then questions with the audience. You will also have a chance to get your book signed at the end, so bring your copies of Noodle and Bao!

    Please sign up so we can have an accurate head count for snacks and refreshments!

    We will be sitting picnic style on the grass, so bring your favorite picnic blanket and sunscreen.

    AALAM is delighted to invite you to join us on Thursday, June 12, 2025 for AALAM’s 2025 Annual Banquet, beginning with a cocktail hour at 5:30 pm followed by dinner promptly starting at 6:30 pm at China Pearl located at 9 Tyler Street, Boston.

    We are excited to be returning to Boston’s Chinatown for a traditional 10 course Chinese banquet dinner and look forward to celebrating with you the legacy and accomplishments of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (“AAPI”) legal community in Massachusetts.

    AALAM has a proud 40+ year history of commitment and service to the AAPI and legal communities. We are immensely proud of our many members and allies who dedicate countless hours to serve as leaders and mentors for all practitioners. We are especially honored to recognize this year’s award recipients for their professional achievements, integrity and dedicated service. AALAM will be presenting the 2025 AALAM Founders Award to Chinh Pham of Greenberg Traurig, the 2025 AALAM Community Service Award to Peggy Ho of Commonwealth Financial, and the 2025 AALAM Ally of the Year Award to Ropes & Gray LLP. We will also recognize the law student recipient of the 28th Annual AALAM/ Dow Fund Scholarship Award

    We hope that you will join us for this evening of celebration, which will also include for the first time an official afterparty immediately following the dinner, complete with music, karaoke and other entertainment! Proceeds from AALAM’s 2025 Annual Banquet will help fund AALAM’s inclusive programming and initiatives throughout the year, including networking and professional development opportunities, charitable donations and sponsorships for community and legal organizations, and scholarships for law students aspiring to enter public service. We would very much welcome your support this year, now more than ever.
