Since its inception in 1984, the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts (AALAM) has devoted its energy and resources to serving the Asian American legal community and improving and facilitating the administration of law and justice.

Join a powerful network of Asian Pacific American attorneys in Massachusetts and nationwide! AALAM serves as a professional and social network for its members, who practice in all sectors of the legal profession. AALAM's membership includes over 250 lawyers, judges, law professors, and law students in Massachusetts.

Events are held every month. In addition, AALAM works closely with the other affinity bar associations in Massachusetts, as well as the Boston Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association.

Membership in AALAM automatically includes membership in the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), which represents over 50,000 Asian Pacific American attorneys nationwide through its local affiliates, including AALAM.

AALAM is launching the AALAM Book Club, a new way for AALAM attorneys to connect with each other through discussions about books by AAPI authors.

Our first book will be Noodle and Bao, a graphic novel written by local author Shaina Lu. This book is accessible to all ages, especially ages 8-12, so this can also be shared with your families. Books in the AALAM Book Club will range in target demographic and genre (and we welcome suggestions!). For our first book, we chose Noodle and Bao to bring attorneys and their families together in a family-friendly event.

If you are interested, please sign up here by Monday March 31st. Members of AALAM can sign-up for $5 and Non-Members for $15. This fee goes towards us shipping a brand new copy of the book to your door. As part of the Book Club, there will be one ~1 hour virtual book discussion with AALAM members. Discussion questions will be sent out in advance to facilitate discussion.

Additionally, we will also be having an in-person event with the author, tentatively scheduled for the morning of Saturday, May 10th, where we will have light refreshments and snacks and a discussion with the author about the book. Please feel free to bring your families as this will be your chance to speak with the author.

Please only sign-up if you plan on attending either the virtual AALAM discussion or the in-person author event. We will schedule the virtual discussion once we have received sign-ups and coordinate a time that works for most readers.

Upon signing up, you must provide your correct address so we can send the book to your address. Please double check before submitting.

We are excited to be returning to Boston’s Chinatown for a traditional 10 course Chinese banquet dinner and look forward to celebrating with you the legacy and accomplishments of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (“AAPI”) legal community in Massachusetts.

AALAM has a proud 40+ year history of commitment and service to the AAPI and legal communities.
