Dan Koh is in a close recount battle in the 3rd Congressional District. The recount will start on Thursday and will run through the weekend (and maybe Monday). The Koh campaign is looking for hundreds of volunteer attorneys to work shifts during the recount. They will need an attorney team in each of the 37 towns of the district for each day of the recount.
If you are interested in volunteering, please email Geoff Why at email@example.com or Amy Sennett at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please see below information regarding the first of a couple of training sessions:
Tuesday's training will be from 6:30 - 8:30pm at 55 Court Street (3rd Floor) right next to the Government Center T station on City Hall Plaza (the offices of Northwind Strategies).
The following is a message from Amy Sennett, Dan's wife:
As you have likely heard, the Democratic primary in MA's Third Congressional District is headed to a historic recount. Based on the unofficial results from primary night, the top two candidates -- Lori Trahan and Dan Koh -- are only 51 votes apart with nearly 85,000 votes cast. Both the Koh campaign and Trahan campaign have filed for a district-wide recount. Each of the 37 communities in the Third District are expected to schedule their recounts sometime between Thursday, September 13th and Monday, September 17th.
I am proud to be working with the Koh campaign and we are actively recruiting lawyers for Team Koh. We would be so grateful for your help. Attorneys do not need to have prior recount experience. We will be offering several trainings for attorneys in the run up to Thursday, starting with Tuesday night in Boston near City Hall Plaza.
If you are interested in assisting the Koh campaign recount effort, please email Amy Sennett, Dan's wife and a lawyer, at email@example.com with your email, cell phone and availability Thursday through Monday. Also please let us know if you have suggestions for other lawyers that may be interested.
We would be thrilled to have you on the team!
